Subject: Noseweight

I am thinking of buying a 2006 Honda CRV 2.2 Diesel to tow a Swift Challenger 540. I know the Challenger has an MTPLM of 1500kg and the car/caravan weight ratio is reasonable.
Could you tell me the maximum noseweight for the Honda?
Many thanks.

I'm pretty sure it is 100 kg.

Bert's right, the noseweight is 100kg for the CR-V. The Swift will match up at 92% if the specified kerbweight I find is correct at 1637kg and the Honda has an excellent write-up for towing, providing you're happy with the match.

Thanks for the replies, the information will be very helpful. The plate on my Swift states a MTPLM of 1480kg with a possible upgrade to 1500kg, which is what the magazines seem to give.
I have had problems in the past trying to keep the noseweight within my Sabbs 75kg and so the 100kg should be easier to achieve.
Once again, many thanks for the information.

Just curious how the possible upgrade is achieved as I've never come across a van with the option to increase it's maximum weight - surely it should be one weight or the other, isn't it?
