Hi i have just bought a caravan that weighs 750kg empty, towed it home with friends car but got to buy a new one as i got a 1.2. i have been looking at the 1.8 tdci 115bhp ford focus. the figures on this site are really good but i wondered if anyone had any personal experience with this car, many thanks.

Check the car matchas mentioned by Bert, but whats the full spec of the car and van (3dr hatch, estate, year etc + vans MTPLM).
Curious only because if your new to towing your advised to aim for an 85% or less of cars kerbweight for maximum towing weight; the average 1.8tdci carries a maximum towing limit of between 1200-1300kgs (depending on model), with an approx 85% ratio of about 1100kgs.

The focus would be a 5dr hatch and the van is a 750kg with a MTPLM of 1000kg. i just wondered if anyone had any personal experience of towing with the focus.
