Subject: increased MTPLM Author: Marti Date: June 20, 2010 at 23:41
I have a Elddis crusader cyclone 2010 model.
The plated MTPLM is 1850 kg and I was wondering if it is possible to increase this as it came with a motormover and with this and a heavier battery (110 amps) it has eaten into the MTPLM. I was wondering if it is possible to increase the MTPLM as the handbook has two figures for the MTPLM . The first is a MTPLM of 2100kg and the second is the plated MTPLM of 1850kg any help would be appreciated.

Hi Marti.
Some van manufacturers can offer an increase on the MTPLM depending on model, chassis length etc. You'd be advised to contact your dealer direct to discuss as there is the legal requirement to re-plate the van to show the ammended weights.

Hi Paul,
Many thanks, I have contacted the manufacturer and they have informed me they will increase the MTPLM for £50 and issue a new plate but then its cheaper than going down the road of buying a roof box and roof bars (£250).
